April 2013. Maggie Thatcher, recently deceased. Most every club in the UK cancelled fixtures the following weekend 'in respect'. Bizarrely, not Wingate & Finchley.

I phoned ahead to ask if they would be observing a minute's silence before kick off, and was told "no". A promise (like many of Thatcher's) which was not kept.

Best memory of that day: in Trafalgar Square later that day, Butler's bare arse in front of a flag with the legend "Thatcher's dead, now let's bury Thatcherism".
