I've lived in South Wales for five years and experienced VERY little anti-English sentiment (apart from sporting banter on match days, obvs!) Hardly surprising, given how many English people (and people from other nations) live here. It's important to stress South Wales tho, as I know feelings run deeper and stronger in the Valleys and the more rural areas of North and Mid Wales.

I sense a growing support for greater political independence from Westminster. Perhaps not outright independence, as seen in Scotland, but certainly greater devolution and autonomy.

And, if you weren't aware of it before, nothing explains modern anti-English sentiment as the disaster that befell the village of Capel Celyn in North Wales. I hadn't heard of it before moving here - take two minutes to read up on it.
