Apparently there will be clarification tomorrow on what it means for step 3 and below. But as we're classified as 'non-elite', and that was the justification for restarting to begin with, I don't see how we can play in November either legally within the new restrictions, or financially behind closed doors.

The only way behind closed doors could happen would be if the Government pays the clubs to do it as they are for the Conference. But it surely makes a lot more sense just to furlough the players now that scheme has been continued, which should also have happened for the Conference.

I'm afraid the situation is completely predictable and I don't for the life of me know why last season was expunged so quickly. They should have resumed last season when it was safe, it would have been finished about now and then the FA could have taken stock on what a new season might look like. Instead we're almost certainly going to get two expunged or incomplete seasons because even if lockdown is lifted in a month's time - a big if - there is surely going to be another one after Christmas.
