After spending so many years with the idea that the Wombles had responded to an oportunity presented to them to purchase Kingsmeadow, it galls to learn that they set out from the start of the relationship to buy the ground, effectively aiming to separate K's from the ground for their own benefit.
It's one thing to jump at a chance presented to you, it's quite another to deliberately initiate the process from the start.
