That’s the fifth that has stepped down a division. Maybe for less travelling for matches rather than money. Then you have others that do a grand tour of the South East with various clubs Jerry Piemonte from Bognor, us, Cheshunt and now Sittingbourne (4 counties) Eze moved to Billericay , Kadell Daniel from Hayes to Folkestone. It doesn’t make a lot of sense. Only Gus, with his job at Palace got the ideal move to Carshalton.
I think Hayden built a good team at Merstham continued with us and the strength of that team was probably the togetherness/team spirit. The writing was on the wall (with hindsight) when Hayden released Tom K , Reece and Benno. A group with team spirit may do better than expensive assembled squad to break into the expected group of title chasers.. At the moment Naren and Gus are the only ones disappointed at losing.
