We need to hope that someone knocks the place down and rebuilds it, for us to have a chance. The work required would cost in the millions, and the chance of getting a football foundation grant for a ground share with Athletics as the primary user is virtually zero.

The other hope is funding from elsewhere, but unless the council gives us the money, that may also prove tricky as Sport England would not be looking to provide money for a limited in scope football development. They view football as having enough funding already.

If this is to be the idea, it needs an incredible amount of work. Developing a ground like Chalky Lane would be a much easier route, and easier to procure funding for.
