Why would the Athletics club say yes? Highmoor Ibis (now Reading city) tried this at Palmer Park athletics stadium and development for football was a no go. They ended up buying Reading Town's ground when they went bust.

I feel we are making an assumption about the place when there is absolutely no guarantee that they would have us, and the venue would bring it's own particular set of difficulties to navigate, which include heavily reduced options for funding.

The fact is we have very limited community reach. We have no community youth section and are not fan owned so our community link at this time is tenuous at best. We need to find ways of fixing these issues before we could call it a realistic option.
