It wouldn't be up to the athletics club, it's not theirs it's the Council's and there's no reason they should be able to veto how it's used outside their timeslots. Obviously we'd want to avoid encroaching on their use and to have good relations with them though, which would be easier than with a rival football club. Presumably if we were spending money to improve the site that would be a positive.

I don't think people are assuming the Council would say yes. There's an example in Reading where it hasn't worked but there are countless where it has. Until the board seriously pursue it instead of holding out for unrealistic schemes like Lovelace, we won't know.

I agree our community presence is poor and that won't help us with this or any other option. I'm sure the Council will be disappointed that we don't have either a women's team or a proper youth setup any more.
