new-look defence was decent, with Yakubu and Inman a good partnership. certainly looked more secure.

three in midfield - all newcomers - showed signs of promise and quality. obviously early days.

but we were very limited in the front three. a bobbly pitch didn't help. louie missed a penalty. Delano ran hard to little effect. Rhys had an off day.

I think Brennan knows what he's doing. it's just so hard to re-invent a team this late in the season and with so many inherited dressing-room issues.

ps. Steve Butterworth scored a consolation goal for Great Wakering Rovers today.
