TL;DR

Brennan's son was injured in an accident; he felt he couldn't commit to the job.

Speaking about time at Ks from minute 16 to 21. His son was injured in a road accident 3 days after his first match in charge. Asked if his son hadn’t been in the accident would he bevat Ks now answered definately yes. Spoke very highly of the board. Worth listening to also prior to minute 16 about Billericay

A very different interview to the one he gave Taimour shortly after leaving us.

But that isn’t an “interview with Brendan”, no disrespect but it looks like supposition and guess work to be honest, where do the sources come from for that Comet “interview”?

To be fair to Brennan, he did mention privately at the time about his son but didn't want it publicised.

To be less generous to Brennan - and if you listen to the podcast as a whole - he is plainly providing an explanation at the instigation of Dave Anderson because he has realised in the last few weeks that the way he left K's early had got tongues wagging in non-league and was potentially going to prove a problem in a search for a new job (ie. "both Ricay and K's ended badly: was Hemel a one-off?" etc). he was absolutely clear with me that he could not have stayed at K's due to a breakdown in his relationship with part of the board. and he was not the only one to confirm that there were tensions. if he's saying something else now, or at least putting stress on a different factor, my reading of it would be that he is downplaying the claimed conflicts in the interests of appearing more attractive to prospective clubs. #fnl

I think your reasoning has merit and there are probably more questions than answers. I expect Dean, at the time of the interview, was going through a difficult time so perhaps with reflection may not worded things the same if first interview was repeated. I believe that with Billericay and Ks unforeseen circumstances haven’t been in his favour so hopefully another opportunity will come his way soon.
