All Quiet on the Front

By Olde School Ks (OldSchoolKs)24/6 16:07Mon Jun 24 16:07:43 2019

All quiet since squad announcements last week and players maybe enjoying a nice rest and no point in talking about nothing happening so no speak.
Having said that,is anything happening anywhere.Any ground or clubhouse updating?
Any pre-season jollies happening?
Any meetings?
So quiet.

Well now let's see since the forum hush has been noted, borrowing one from the Conference forum:-

Beers once widespread in pubs.

Skol
Double Diamond
Red Barrel

That'll do for starters.

Think leave the Red Barrel back in the bin but yes Double Diamond worked wonders at times and Skol not bad but where did they all go?

Outrigger, Kingston or The Brewsters New Malden or 'The brawling phalluses' (Fighting Cocks) Kingston,
or The Plough, Worcester Park, when they had bands and it was a pub etc etc.

COLT 45 was apparently brewed for the can, and it showed. On draught it was rubbish but, in a tin, it was quite nice.

CASTLEMAINE XXXX Cheap Aussie lager

Courage Directors Bitter.

And the one I used to drink a lot of, John Courage (J.C.) India pale ale out of the bottle.

Well - thank goodness for the local brewers like Young’s who kept the art of beer making alive and for CAMRA who helped consign Watneys Red Barrel to the Dustbin of History.

Speaking of Lager (which were weren’t ) there was Grolsh which had the great merit of our team sponsors at Wembley.

Here's one for the marketing department, Grolsch was an appropriate shirt name back in the days of our international fame, how about getting a good micro brewery on board next time we're looking.

I dont think a brewery would touch us unless they can work a deal to stick their drinks in the bar, which I'd assume on current agreements with Casuals is a non-starter.

Should definitely go for something that'll give us perks like that though... maybe something like Cushelle or another toilet paper brand - free rolls in the bogs & very apt as last season we were shit.

Casuals already using a local micro brewery with a cask on the bar on matchdays.
Seems we have no input into the bar with the deal we have but maybe something could be negotiated in the future.

As long as a double jack & coke is still a fiver, negotiate away.
