They are doing a Guernsey & it's great to see to be honest! I've developed a massive interest in non-FIFA football (CONIFA, Island Games, Europeada ect) so I've been following this development.

Shame about the name they've gone with, a bit Americanised but at least it has meaning.

Shameless plug but if anyone else has an interest in this sort of thing & plays Football Manager... I have an Isle of Man domestic league database (beta) already out there on steam & I'm in the middle of developing an entire non-fifa database that will let the player manage domestically & internationally in places like Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Shetland & Orkeny.

Have you had a good look at their website? I get the impression they're trying to learn from the Guernsey experience and maybe avoiding the odd pitfall. Do you have any idea why the Guernsey wagon seems to have got bogged down, apart from any suger daddy pulling out if they have.

They've reached their natural level in terms of quality of domestic players - if they want to progress further then they will have to start signing players externally but that pretty much voids the original idea of the team to give the islands players a bigger challenge.

Jersey will reach the same level, they are pretty much equal if you look at Muratti Vase & Island Games records. Jersey were historically the superior of the two but the introduction of Guernsey FC changed this so maybe Jersey will now regain superiority. Incidentally Jersey have also recently entered CONIFA with a team called Parishes of Jersey (something that Guernsey have not done as they were pursuing UEFA membership up until recently citing Gibraltar as a precedent).
