What defines grassroots football ? I and a few mates formed a club for the 1962/63 season. We were accepted into division 8 of the Kingston and District Football League. The club Spartan Rangers was funded out of our own pockets. It was out of a desire to play football. We had a good time together and managed to lose more games than we won but it was great fun. We would play league matches on a Saturday and friendly games on a Sunday.
