1985 , too hungover to travel to Villa away and Mark Murphy hoodwinked me to Richmond rd (RIP). Think it was Bromley. Centenary season, Jill and John Trevor running the supporters hut etc.
Never looked back .

Memories cerainly of Ks/Hendon and the hope and then dissapointment of that Wembley day
Richmond Rd more hazy in my young days with Father but more familiar as time went onward toward the building of the new club house.
Certainly remember vividly the rivalry with Wimbledon.
Great days and always a decent cup of tea

Unfortunately not Tim, but that was deffo the beginning. With the old clubhouse and Surbiton Byron played on the back pitch I think.

Wembley 1960. I assume I went to others before that but it’s the first of which I have even the slightest recollection.

Can't remember as I would have been too young .
I was born in December 1957 and am absolutely certain my Dad would have taken me to games as soon as he could....but I wouldn't remember them.
My earliest real recollections are from when I was around 10 but can't remember any specific games.

Vs Chelmsford city, fa cup, 4th qual. 1967? Richmond rd,
3-3. Born Kingston 1958, so would have been about 9.
Seems old at 9 these days to be attending yer 1st senior club game. You see babes in arms at premier league games now.
My Dad could never have afforded that!

Must add not my first match that would be about 1952, in those days got in free at half time or if you used the boys gate sixpence 6d to see the full 90 minutes or a tanner or in todays money two & a half P.

@ K's 1960's

How good are your memories of players in the mid 1950's? I have a few team photos where I can't identify the names of all the players.

If you or any others reading this think they can help then I could post a few up photos on my history site for you to look at. Mostly they are going to be players who probably only played a handful of games or at most a season or two.

I was in my formative years in the fifties. Worked at Hawkers (1955) as an office junior ( or tea boy) but I met K's half back Danny Mills and of course I remember Johnny Whing and Jimmy Coats 1956 Olympian and always remember Gordon Foss.

Well if you or others can identify any of the missing names in these 1950's photos then let me know:

http://www.kingstonianhistory.co.uk/TeamPhotos.htm

The final pic I haven't got around to adding the names I do know (obviously Whing) but I don't know very many so have left it blank for now.

I've not been around as long as some people have been attending K's... Pre Season 1998, K's 0-5 MK Dons in their old blue branding from when they used to play in South-West London.

Simon Stewart (I think, maybe Mark Harris) scored an own goal in the second half & at that moment, as a natural pessimist, I knew I was a K's fan for life.
