First impressions: disappointing draw.

The worst supported team in League Two. (Half the teams in The Conference have as many supporters.) 200 miles from Ks. (200 miles from Cardiff.) Nothing to attract the TV cameras, home or away (i.e. after a replay).

Doing OK in their League; currently 9th (W5, D5, L4) with 20pts from 14 games.

But winnable, definitely winnable. A repeat of our performance at Dartford would beat them easily.

I'm guessing that the game WILL be on the Saturday at 3 p.m. since it's not an attractive enough tie for the T.V. cameras.

I've spent the last 90 minutes trying to work out how I'm going to get to the game from Spain.

Flights into local airports at Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds just don't fit timewise and my car will be at Newcastle anyway.

So, it may be an early flight from Alicante to Newcastle (2hrs 45mins), Drive to the game (3 hrs.) Then drive home (2hrs 30mins) and back to Newcastle airport on Sunday morning to fly back to Spain........let's hope this will all be worth it.

Thanks for that.

I'm still looking at possibilities, as there are several ways I can do this, but I won't book anything until the weekend by which time we'll know for sure if the game is on that day and at that time.
There is still a chance it could be moved for one reason or another and I've been caught out before by booking travel plans too early!!

I couldn't get there early enough to be able to be picked up in time to get to the game. There are lots of possibilities but they all have issues.

I'm up in Stockport for the weekend and going to the game, so I could pick you up/drop you off at Manchester airport.

Thanks for the offer, and thanks to all the folk that have offered me help with this.
Getting to the game isn't a big problem but getting back to Spain is.
There are no flights late enough from any airport so I'd have to stay the night somewhere.
I'm just going to wait a couple of days, until the date and time are confirmed, then I’ll reassess all the options.

There is a chance it may be Sunday 2pm. In previous years up to 10 ties (usually the league v non league but not that eye-catching ones) are shown in a red zone/champions League goal show style, hopping between the grounds. Worcester City at Coventry was one of them a few seasons a back (before things went belly up for Worcester).

But I think there are still a few other games that might take priority for that, so sat 3pm probably most likely.

Watched the draw last night , thought we might get the bye but quite happy with the outcome, a very winnable tie.
Nice to see Chichester City got the bye and not one of league clubs.

Not the best draw, but it will be another stonking
day out. Looked on their forum last night and one
fan picked up on our average home attendance of 276, thinking
that they are not expecting to see many of us up there.
Think they are in for a bit of a shock when we start making
some noise!. On the face if it, looking through their squad, I
think they may well be too strong for us but, its the FA cup and I
thought the same about Brentford, Southend and Bristol City all
those years ago!. A point to note is that they had a winding up order postponed from last month and is due to be heard tomorrow instead. We might have no one to play on Nov.9th.
Hope that isn't the case as much for them and us.
Looking forward to another proud and exciting day out!
Come on u Ks!

Our record in the FACup against league teams is W3 D4 L7. Of the four drawn all the replays were lost by the odd goal. Due to the reorganisation of the pyramid and introduction of conference North and South the number of places different in this cup tie is over 90. When we played Peterborough they were in Division One (now the championship) and the placing difference was about 90.

After the excellent victory at Dartford I was thing of other memorable victories away from home and my top five. 1960 beating Crook Town at Newcastle., The two FA trophy wins at Cheltenham and the FA Cup wins at Brentford and Southend.
Obviously Macclesfield will be favourites but yes, it can be done especially as the team is growing in confidence and spirit.
