It's not appropriate for the League's sponsor to be name-checked in an article aimed at younger people.

This is NOT a response to being given Thumbs Down. (If it were, if have to Thumbs Down this response to it, myself!)

It's a very serious point. Many proper objections were raised to the League being sponsored by a gambling firm and one of the outcomes of those objections was that the sponsor's name would not be displayed to younger people. (If you visit www.kingstonian.com you are immediately greeted with a screen-prompt challenge 'Are you Over 18?' and, if you answer no, the sponsor's name does NOT appear at the top of the site. Rightly so.)

The sponsor's name doesn't appear at the top, but it is a little way down the page under 'Today's Match', even before you have selected yes or no.

Oh is that what it does? Normally when presented with this question on a website you get taken back to Google if you hit 'no' so I've never tried it.

Jokes aside, it is worrying that the reassurances given regarding the sponsorship of the league has been ignored either accidentally or otherwise.

I've always thought that the best name for that Teddy Bear would have been Ian.

Not sure where the name Ted came from but, if it had been Ian, we could have referred to him as 'Kingston Ian'.

We'll save 'Ian' for when we have a proper mascot.

The relevance of the name of the bear who is the mascot of Kingstonian is equal to the relevance of a bear being the mascot of Kingstonian.

President Teddy Roosevelt was the inspiration for the Teddy Bear.

Yes, I knew that, but my point was that maybe a more original and apt name could have been thought of for the Kingstonian mascot.
