Perhaps they should ask Khosla for a loan?

From the article:

"A number of options have been presented to the 3,000 members of the Trust, which include selling part of the club to outside investors, although, crucially, they would retain the right to veto relocating the team, selling the stadium, changing the badge, colours or club name."

I wont pretend I'm anything other than 100% anti-womble but I've got to say it would be such a massive shame if they didn't remain entirely fan owned as they intended to be from the start. For some people (not me of course lol) it is the last shred of credibility they have held on too since transforming into another normal run of the mill football league corporation from the pioneer high profile phoenix club they used to be (they're not a phoenix club, but I use the media's loose phrasing of the term), which in all honesty genuinely inspired a lot of other supporters in football & beyond to not stand for crap treatment & mismanagement from those running the show.

I confess, I liked the concept of AFCW from the start; went against them 'quite a bit' (sic) went they colluded with Khosla; but only really learned to hate them when they sold Kingsmeadow to Chelsea Ladies knowing full well that they'd be making us homeless in the process.

The concept is beautiful, hence my irregularly kind(ish) words about them. I genuinely hope they dont sell even part of the club off to private investors because it'll be a bad look for the fan ownership model as a whole.

I heard it was only 75% fan owned.

Given how much profit they made on Kingsmeadow - and the dubious deal they did with our do called chairman at the time to buy it - I'd like to think it would be safe.

Plus, that was clearly used to encourage us to willingly (at boardroom level) leave. Take it back and take us in again (which they presumably can't).

Is the money (either the whole lot including the legal compo portion for activating the break clause in our tenancy agreement or just the hush money part) held in a Womble bank account?

publicly available documents say "escrow" and money only released with Womble permission for purposes of i) limited budgetary support and ii) ground development.

The permission bit is funny. I mean, I obviously get the intention behind it from them, but imagine if we were in the same division - they'd essentially have some control over a rival's budget - that's crazy and would surely have to be re-written once the FA / League had a hold of it.

The fact that they are our puppet masters in this scenario is crazy regardless of which division both clubs are in. Okay they didnt have to give us (some of) the money we (haven't) received for leaving KM but in theory they can now hold us to ransome if they were that way inclined.

To be fair that is a fairly moot point as it seems we have zero intention of using that money towards building our own ground so it'll be all dried up on rent soon enough anyway.

Meh, when we beat Fylde on Saturday, we'll be looking at close to a million quid anyway from playing at Liverpool in the next round of the FA Cup :-)

Seems you did, my presentiment over the Weetabix this morning clearly indicated a Championship opponent for the winners on Saturday, Liverpool will barely squeeze past a League 2 team before we get them in rnd4.

I gave up listening to Lottery presentiments a looooong time ago, this is footy though it's different.
