Moving on (Louie who?)

By a krinkly6/1/2020 09:56Mon Jan 6 09:56:20 2020

We can spend the week endlessly exploring the possible implications surrounding the exit of this seasons top scorer, or start to concentrate on something important, Saturday. No doubt there'll be some hefty changes in training this week, I trust the Gaffer to optimise what we have, can we still win it? Yes.

As for the other stuff, the board will deal with anything that needs dealing with.

We can do both at the same time.

But on the 'moving on' side of things... we need to replace Louie with an equally potent striker who is known & feared at our level (or above) as soon as possible. Assuming there wasn't any pay off to do this with it could be a difficult task.

Finding someone not Trophy tied (if still appropriate) won't be easy, in the meantime I'm expecting to see some interesting positioning on Saturday.

I reckon the club should forget about finding someone with the Trophy in mind if it would be quicker to get someone in who is Cup-tied. The cup runs have been lovely & has put some good money into the club but getting up to the Conference South by any means possible (except for giving an under qualified manager a blank cheque book like we did last season) has to be the priority?

Callum Davis , he of the blinding finishes. He may not be as potent as L but as least he's not a Judas .

One of the most painful defections for me since Sol C .

Move somebody forward from midfield and supply more service than before? There's a lot of talent still in the side.

Sounds like a sensible course of action. A really good seasoned forward would be likely cup tied at this point in the season anyway.

This really does stink, getting away from football etc.etc. Goes for the money at Romford! To be honest I have really thought that at times he didn't seem to be in the game and too easily 'disappeared'. Why oh why no transfer fee, valued at £25,000.

I'm completely at a loss to understand how we apparently failed make him sign a non-compete clause as part of his exit from the Club?

If this does turn out to be as devious as it appears, then despite the fact we've had plenty of 'money grabbing' ex players over the years this is on a different level. McKimm could be knocked of his perch as arch villain.

25k or not,he was on a contract which we seem to have released him from overnight.
I am sure we have faith in the boss but wonder if the wool was pulled over his eyes or if he just thought it best to let go.Contract or no contract if a player at any level wants out,it then gets very difficult and messy to try and hold them.
We would not want a player of such importance to be playing on Saturday if his mind was somewhere else.

Louis once stated he was a Conference player so why go lower unless it was for the money and being further away from his family at Romford.

If as you say BE he sees himself as a conference player, and he plays at a lower level for the money, and if it is true as some are saying he left for the money at least he then would be consistent.
If playing football for the money is a strong motivation then playing for Ks I' m afraid is a distant 2nd.

We have forwards who have been patient and deserve their chance. I am sure they will give a 100 percent in the next few games proving worthy of that chance. Leamington top scorer Josh March has also left at the weekend joining Forest Green Rovers. It maybe a game where both teams adjust their playing formations.

Apparently (according to Forest Green Rovers) he has scored 24 goals in 27 games so far this season which is one more than the rest of the Leamington team put together.

Louie has scored 18 compared to 41 from the rest of the Ks team

At least we're both without our main strikers going in to the match. One key difference though is that at least Leamington got a transfer fee as compensation for their man.

It should be a good fiesty match, hopefully the crowd a bit bigger than the last round since Leamington are bringing nearly as many as Woking did.

This forum, Leamington are reckoning on bringing 150, the Cards had 200 at the most probably a bit less.
