Last night was a good turnout from K's (70?) and a great effort from the team with so many missing. It would've been easy to give up in the last 10 minutes but instead we put on our most consistent spells of pressure and Tolfs so nearly could have slid in at the back post to equalise. the youngsters who came on were very lively and Sam Oguntayio beat Casey a couple of times down the right.

What's most impressive about Bird's sides is that they try to play the same way whatever the personnel and we always look solid-ish at the back, even when the faces change.

Make no mistake: Woking played a strong side (half were first-teamers) and then a couple of new loanees. No callow youths.

For those who were not at East Thurrock on Saturday, and are wondering where the goals will come from, honestly there isn't a worry: Dsane and Hector are going to make us forget a certain Louie Theophanous.

Agreed. We were a joy to watch at times going forward on saturday. Dsane offered a different kind of threat that seemed to suit the team more as a whole.

ps. Dynan's East Grinstead lost 3-0 last night, his 12th game without a win, over an 11 month period.

What on earth were Woking playing at, only opening one of the four stands? Absolutely pathetic. Especially when half of the 'main stand' we weren't really allowed to stand there because it's the disabled section.

Meant we had to stand next to the home supporters and copped some abuse from aggy old blokes. Stupid little club.

Okay don’t get why they didn’t open the stand by the disable bit but seeing as they had 300 people come to the 1st round , it’s not hard to see why they only had one side open

It IS hard to see why, as you acknowledge in your opening few words when saying why it's bizarre they didn't open the stand behind the goal.

Disrespecting the competition, to be frank

My second visit to Kingfield this season, Sheerwater groundshare there and hosted Guildford's first CCL match in early August. The main stand wasn't open as you'd expect, but City fans were able to make a decent bit of noise on the terrace behind the other goal, so it's been open for Sheerwater size crowds before.

Just pure disrespect

They're still absolutely reeling after we dumped them out of the trophy

Would have smashed him in this cup too if we didn't have six players out!
