K's sixties action (10 seconds of it!)

Kingston history centre just pointed me to a video of Kingston I had never seen before;

10 seconds of K's v Wimbledon at 12 mins 15. Was anyone here the boy with the rattle or one of his mates?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59lc7822Zq0

Rest of the video is interesting as well.

The guy in the middle with the scarf still goes to Ks and stands in the Royal Enclosure (Me). The boy to his right is David Bishop, now sadly deceased who used to live in Canbury Park Road, and the boy on the left (I think) is Paul Sheldrake who lived in Kings Road.

Was that clip about 63/64 ? I noticed the flood lights were in place, these were installed at about that time.

Floodlights were installed 60-61 season and Wimbledon was the first game under floodlights but looks like a daytime match in the video so could be any time after that- I guess we will never know unless someone remembers being in the video.

@ MHFC

Amazing that you made it into the video and could identify people nearly 60 years later- maybe you know the season?

Sir Sidney Donaldson who was chair of the isthmian league at the time- he had a big hammer in his hand in the photo too!

Brilliant stuff. I must say, as a 50's son of the Royal borough
of Kingston upon Thames, I have never seen this film before.
Thanks for putting it up and sharing it.

A bit before my first visit to the K's. Looked like a good attendance. Wonderful.

Keith.

Why worry, be happy.

We briefly, I think, also saw former Ks President Jimmy Webster in the early shots of the market.
