Kappa and Isthmian League

Kappa and the Isthmian League have signed a three year partnership. The Italian sportwear giant @Kappa_UK is now the leagues new Official Bench Wear supplier, and Recommended Match Day Kit supplier.

Mind you, unless they start selling red and white hoops they will probably be out of luck with Ks.

Our kits

They do have a red & white hoop shirt in their teamwear catalogue. So the option is there...
https://www.prodirectsoccer.com/p/kappa-casernhor-ss-shirt-white-red-mens-football-teamwear-213603/

In terms of Kappa kits being tight - I've found the Macron ones to be tight anyway, so will still need to size up. I personally am not a fan of the old Macron template which we've gone back to and so would be up for a change.

Also, I dream of the day when we'll finally get rid of the yellow and blue away shirts which some mistakenly think is a homage to Wembley 2000. The away shirts of the time were yellow and green (with some blue too for that particular shirt). The whole point of those away kits was that we were trying to emulate Brazil. These days we keep trying to emulate AFCW with the away colours.

In an ideal world, we'd have an away kit competition, where the fans could choose their favourite from a few designs. This worked well when we previously did it, and managed to come away with a smart blue & black hooped shirt.

I would like to see the return of yellow and green. I still think of this as THE Kingstonian away colours

However I agree the blue-and-black design was very smart and I like having hoops as an away kit.

Ideally, for me, we would alternate between the two.

Funnily enough, even though it wasn't my choice, we did put a yellow and green hoops option on the vote that time. I prefer the dark option, but there's some sense in it.

At the moment, I just want us to get rid of these constant yellow and blue combos we keep doing. A lot of us are sick enough of those colours together, for obvious reasons, as it is.

Yeah I did think about a hybrid of the two designs. Can't imagine yellow and green stripes looked particularly good though!

Thanks for this information Ali . The trouble though is that this Kappa shirt has hoop style red and white stripes on the front but a plain white back. Surely Kingstonian hoops need to go all the way round?

All the hoops we can get

I've had a look around on the Prokit site, as they've done some nice kits for Margate (and I think are their stadium sponsors).

There are a few red & white hoop options on there actually. My favourite would be the Puma one if it didn't have a plain back, and so I would personally go for the Umbro one if there was any option for this kind of thing.

Current kit - I don't particularly like the template (which we've had in two different spells now) or the quality:
https://www.prokituk.com/teamwear/football/football-shirts/macron-kepler-shirt-red-white.html

New league supplier - though this unfortunately has a plain white back:
https://www.prokituk.com/teamwear/football/football-shirts/kappa-casernhor-shirt-s-s-red-white.html

Great looking front - though this unfortunately has a plain red back (which is better than plain white):
https://www.prokituk.com/teamwear/football/football-shirts/puma-liga-hooped-jersey-s-s-red-white.html

I've seen a great looking Adidas one for Hamilton Accies, but isn't in these catalogues and looks like that's a plain back job anyway.

That leaves the current two in the hoops style (both have a plain area on the back for numbers, as we're used to):

Umbro - this is my favourite as it's the cleanest design and a favourite manufacturer:
https://www.prokituk.com/teamwear/football/football-shirts/umbro-triumph-jersey-s-s-red-white.html

Joma - can't quite pin why I'm not so taken with this:

That umbro one is beautiful! Reminds me of our most recent nike ones but with thicker hoops. A nice banquet records logo on the 2nd red hoop down & it's good to go!

The hoop bands are too narrow, on the one you're not sure about.

A very respectable (other) person, who does things like this forum, has told me they like the Umbro one too.

Better still, they've highlighted this as a great looking away navy hoops option if we did that:

Agree 100% with you about the yellow 'Brazil' kit.
Although iconic regards our 2nd Wembley Trophy win, it
has to be 'hoops' for me. I remember a pre season when
we were asked to submit preferences for kit design home and
away. Like you, I thought change/away kit should be a striking
dark/light blue hoops with dark or light blue shorts/socks.

Not that it really matters now 20yrs on but out of interest what with Kettering having red&white did K's make the choice or or was it a toss of the coin who wore red & white.

Some years ago I was on holiday in Paphos . Cyprus I attempted to fit into an AEK Pafos shirt in size xxx. While it did fit, after a while it started to "shrink" leaving me looking like the Michelin Man. This is ok if you're fit, not me.
Certainly caused a laugh in the sports shop.

Keith.

Why worry, be happy.
