Black Lives Matter

Two contrasting articles in today's Grauniad.

One noting that "the Football Association, Rugby Football Union, England and Wales Cricket Board, Lawn Tennis Association, England Golf, UK Athletics and British Cycling had just one black board member between them". https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/jun/15/an-ugly-truth-british-sports-bodies-admit-failure-to-confront-racism

The other, a fantastic letter from Marcus Rashford to the UK Govt, calling on them to do more to support people living in poverty and extend the food voucher scheme over the summer holidays, noting that he was raised by a single parent and often relied upon food banks for their Xmas dinner. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jun/15/protect-the-vulnerable-marcus-rashfords-emotional-letter-to-mps

Well Rex many of us should hang our heads in shame at what is happening just in this country meaning in the year 2020 we need a group of good people supporting Black Lives Matter.
Its is truly shocking when we see so few black faces in the corridors of power and while blaming those in high places we ignore it ourselves.
Time to wake up to whats going on to our fellow human beings and support their worthy cause. In our great game we help to fill Parliament Sq. with the right wing thugs that blight our clubs and say they are representing us.Well if we know these dregs lets say not in our name,we dont need you.

Fortunately I don't think anyone believes these racist thugs represent Kingstonian in any way.

For some other clubs at or around our level there has to be some soul searching as to whether or not people who are admitted members of groups such as the football lads alliance should be allowed to persist as attendees, season tickets holders or in some cases occupiers of official positions at their clubs.

I've written to John Fenwick asking if the Board would consider appointing a member of the BAME community to join them (non-exec, ex-officio, whatever).

I'd love to see some thumbs-up to this?
