Listening to P.M. this morning,it seems supporters can come back to sporting events from October.
I guess more detail will follow but at least some progress

Listening to Vallance in the afternoon really sounds to me like he expects a second wave this winter but can't be 100% sure with so many unknowns and circumstances will determine how serious it will be.

It's an impossible situation for everyone but, coupled with definitely having a late start to the season, I personally think the FA (at least down at the non league level) should be looking at an alternative to a traditional season and rule out promotion and relegation whatever happens. This would stop clubs risking money on players wages that they may not be able to pay if the season is curtailed again.

What the heck would be the point of playing a season with no chance of promotion.

it's just my personal opinion but I think the main reason is survival.

Of course it is up to clubs to be sensible with their wage bill and I suppose you could blame them for overspending if they know the season might be curtailed/behind closed doors or whatever but the pressure is much higher on the playing budget if there are repercussions from the risk of relegation. There won't be any job retention scheme next time and like most companies at the moment the next year is about not going to the wall.

So you play out a season- maybe with some extra cup competitions for the competitive element but you take the pressure off clubs to risk money they can't be sure they will have.

Do not agree with no promotion. This season no promotion was a disaster for some teams, nothing to play for next season makes all games friendlies. Give teams a chance of going up and if the league is suspended again then Points per game to count.
