At the Supporters Club AGM yesterday we had inspiring contributions from Thommo and Hayden and participants were very supportive of plans for Kingstonian to take a lead in backing Black Lives Matter and the Kick it Out campaign. This will start at today’s match at Horley when our team will take the knee.

When AFC go back to Merton, we should be seen by the borough as an inclusive , progressive club playing good football, look what Dulwich managed.

I was thinking yesterday, as I sat in on the meeting and listened to the contributions from Thommo and Hayden, that we now, for the first time I can remember, have real quality at Kingstonian from the very bottom to the very top.

Yes, we’ve had some great players, managers, great times, but never had that quality in ALL departments at the same time.

The future of Kingstonian looks very bright and we can all play our part and make Kingstonian great again.

‘When you make it into the playoffs against the enemy, you invite all your friends and family and then you smash in a volley from the edge of the box and let them know it was for them. Best game of football I’ve ever been involved in. What a night......#whatdoyouthinkofsutton’

It's really good to see a former player want to return in this sort of voluntary role, something we don't really see a lot of. But it was clear from the interviews Butler posted during lockdown that not just Thommo but all of that promotion winning side had a real affinity for the club still, ten years later. I'd love to see more former players get involved.

Good luck to Thommo, in what I think is a challenging role. Our fanbase has never reflected the diversity of the local area and neither really does anyone else's in non-league. It's good that we're trying to address this.
