Almost thirty years ago we lost 6-1 at Wivenhoe then the following week beat a very good Woking side 4-2 at home in front of 2500.. I wouldn’t read too much into one result though disappointing.

Cray are a very good side and at their peak I think.
I didn't expect us to get anything from this game,
but TBH, thats a bit of a shock.

On a positive note though I will say I think our vocal support was fantastic today. Even though we didn’t have a great deal to sing about it was a great atmosphere particularly in the first half.

Taimour’s Corie Andrews song to the Coronation Street theme tune was a personal highlight, although I’m not too sure it’s gonna catch on.

On a day to forget, this is right at the top of the list of things I’d like to forget.

‘On a day to forget, this is right at the top of the list of things I’d like to forget.’

Ouch! Personally I got more entertainment from Taimour stood at the the back of the terrace belting that chant out then I did from anything I saw on the pitch yesterday!

Yes it could do with some actual lyrics to it and sure it would actually work if his name was Corrie and not Corie...but still a solid effort I thought.

Terrible result, merely a 'bad' performance. 3-1 would have been fairer than 5-1

Bit surprised that Corie Andrews was left out after looking so good last weekend

I slightly fear another situation like last year where we take 5-6 weeks before the team clicks

Enjoyed the day out though

Hayden changed things last season at the start when it wasn't working - Fabio moved to left back, Hector came in to add dynamism and pace on the left - and then it clicked.

So i would expect something similar to happen again.

I am still a big fan of Dsane and how well we played when he was in the team offering link-up (he is now at Horsham) and Hector who just ran all day and always stretched teams (now at Leatherhead). There is surely much more to come from Daniel. Andrews and Richards were excellent when they came on. Ollie Cook is our best defender and is back soon. We'll be good. It may just take a little time.

Were Covid guidelines/rules followed? The ground I was at the club had put a lot of effort in. One system in and out, every other row of seats taped off plus several other actions.
Most looked to be content to abide by the measures, apart from a dozen or so who if the 'mingling' guidelines/rules apply to football crowds were not.

Of the four games I've been to my impression is clubs and the majority of supporters are abiding by the measures.
Alas there are some whose actions seem to give the government,if they need it,ample reason to stop crowds going.
Maybe it will turn out half season ticket is all that was need after all.

Oh boy what an amazing if short rant.
Open your ground/pub/ or restaurant and obey the rules, like them or not and make sure your customers/crowd or diners do the same or don't open.
A lot attending your venue through ignorance or whatever need to be told or shown what is the correct way.If you haven't got the staff or stewarding stay closed and protect us all
