I found this quite reassuring actually. Managers prepare the team, if the players dont follow their key roles in each situation, then it is down to them to bounce back and get it right next time. The basics are what gives a team a platform to build off whatever the managers philosophy.
Hopefully this is a wake up call to help us kick on for the rest of the season.

I cant get to many games, so I really value these interviews. But the audio is sometimes dreadful.
Can I offer a donation to the supporters club to help buy some microphones? If I started a crowdfunder, would other people chip in?

A great Idea Rex. If there is a simple way of donating then count me in.

Maybe it's just my computer but the audio always seems fine to me.
You can hear a bit of wind but as long as I can make out what Hayden is saying, which I don't think has ever been a problem, seems good enough.

What a peculiar response.
I was just questioning whether there *is* actually a problem, as to me the audio seems fine. As I acknowledged, perhaps it's different on my computer to others'.
But it would be technically/logistically a bit of a pain for the interviewer to do everything with microphones, so worth making sure that it's worthwhile. Was just surprised that the audio could ever be considered "dreadful", that's all. Apologies if this caused offence.

Is it me or is a trend developing of apologizing for offending where none exsist?

It may be a developing trend here but I've been apologising to the wife for this sort if thing for years.

Paddy there's a US comedian's routine you might enjoy. Google 'things you didn't know till you got married' . Think his name is Fred Kettle so something like that.

I do wonder what the modern audience would make of this forum 15-20 years ago, it's heyday IMO.

I neither said he was offensive nor called for an apology - so you're probably about right, there! :-)
I may have implied his answer seemed, erm, a little uncaring? Indifferent to others? Hearing loss is a thing and background noise makes it very hard to understand speech.

Very so with the hearing loss Rex. My NHS hearing aids whilst not perfect are of a great benefit

Hi Rex
This sounds like a good idea. I would be interested in Jamie’s thoughts on this and whether any other equipment would be beneficial.

The technical answer is... quite boring.
There are a few issues:
1) getting two mics to plug into one phone is quite tricky, and while we could just use one and pass it between, that's prob not COVID-friendly
2) iPhones and Androids have two different inputs would mean we'd be wedded to always using the same phone (or brand thereof) which the combination of batteries, different people etc would make this tricky. You could solve this with a wireless/bluetooth mic, but again, you can probably only connect 1 to a phone at a time
3) You're then somewhat dependent on the same person turning up each week, or at least planning who takes the equipment home after each game in advance (as well as whoever turns up has to lug them around, which, if you fancy making a day of it etc, is a bit of a pain). Again, not impossible.
You could probably solve 1 and 2 if we didn't use a phone, but used a camera and a proper setup instead, not impossible, but obviously more expensive.
I know Mick Sullivan used two mics plugged into an ipad, but I'm not sure the sound on his is much better.
Tbh, Jon Tolley would give a much better answer than me.

A very hurt and embarrased Hayden lays it on
the line. Rather worryingly, as he says, there is no time to work before Tuesday's game and is relying quite rightly on a 'human reaction' from the players in response to todays performance.
Lets hope its a 'superhuman reaction' to get us past Horsham.
Come on u Ks!
