Wat a time in our lives maybe never to be repeated so was he Sir Nobby ?
Sir Bobby but not Sir Jack.
Sir Jimmy the Greaves perhaps not but Sir Geoffrey.
Sir Bobby but not Sir George.
Sir Martin or Sir Ray .
Sir Ballymena
Sir Gordon of banks
Jimmy with the armload
Some but not others,it's the way it is with no explanation

Sadly another hero of 66 leaves us ,sadly forgotten by the F.A as have
other players of that iconic team.
In 2010 he auctioned off his medals, no financial help either from the
PFA although that is not at all surprising.
When it became clear how ill he was his family were told by the PFA that any
payment would be means tested, how heartless, how thoroughly mean to a
man who played a major part in that epic journey to glory.
When ENGLAND faced PORTUGAL in that memorable SEMI-FINAL he shadowed
the great EUSEBIO which was a job well done.
That iconic image of him jigging up the touchline with the trophy will forever
live on in our memory.
R.I.P NOBBY you did your country proud.
