The big question is will this present lockdown end on DEC 2nd as
the prime minister has said.
As we can expect another spike over the winter months I can see
the present restrictions extending beyond XMAS or returning in
the new year, maybe the furlough scheme extending until the end
of MARCH may give a clue to that scenario.

Agree with that.
December 2nd return with almost everything for everyone so the subjects can enjoy their Christmas then a more complete lockdown in the New Year.

The most likely first game back is away to Horsham on Saturday 12th December.
Saturday the 5th would not give enough time to get the players ready for a competitive game.

Not sure why one would think if December 2nd is our resume again day it could be delayed.
We have been told little so far as its far to early but I presume helpfull infomation will come our way in time for a Christmas fixture time when we can hopefully be fully prepared to play.
I am assuming if things go well we in football or the food and pub trade we could be told by 27th November to start preparing for a December 2nd re-start.Hectic it would be but desperate it would be to be ready for Christmas crowds desperate to be back.
The danger of coarse is that we are going back into tiers depending on where we stand at the time and the hope would be that we can return to tier 1

Not sure why one would think if December 2nd is our resume again day it could be delayed.

The reason is that Boris said this lockdown would be for a set period which would end on December 2nd; he said it would NOT be open ended.

This means that players can't meet up again until December 2nd so, to play on the 5th would be too soon.

My guess is that Horsham away on the 12th would be the most likely first game back.

Thanks for that Dave. I was still thinking of my days when I was playing in the 8th tier of the Kingston & District Football League, circa 1962/3

I guess there may even be 1 or 2 friendlies to get back up to match fitness? It’s all unprecedented so can’t necessarily predict with certainty anything. There’s never been a month break before where teams can’t even train together.

One thing that has turned things in our favour is that K's only win the Isthmian League under a Democrat president- twice in the 1930's with Roosevelt and once in 1990's under Clinton.
