“we’ve identified a piece of vacant land within the borough that the council own and we’re hopeful that we might be able to develop that."

Anyone care to speculate where this land may be? I've heard rumours of Chessington. Does anyone with good knowledge of the area know where it could be?

Brown field site next to Water Treatment Works near Berrylands Station. Originally looked at by AFC Wimbledon before they muscled in on KM.

If this included the proposed walkway through to the Norbiton side then this would be a fantastic prospect - linking us in with both Kingston and Surbiton. Although, there's already another stadium of significant infrastructure potentially available just a shot put throw away (ok, maybe javelin).

It's a tough one because I'm very much in 'team town' as opposed to 'team borough' but I'm also of the persuasion that Kingstonian are my team & I wouldn't stop supporting them because they don't play in town. I'd also rather we existed somewhere in the borough than ceased to exist entirely.

Personally - and this is a personal opinion - I believe we will struggle to attract crowds (home or away fans) in some of the Royal Borough locations that have been suggested. I therefore fear a Borough existence could lead to a ceased existence anyway. A long, painful one. We know from our historically dispersed fan base that folk would travel to Kingston to watch us as the prominent team of the town and borough. Unless we can build something special (which we can't with £1MM), I can't see this being replicated outside of reasonable walking / transport to Kingston (town).

While there are proper Kingston options available we have to be pushing these as our priorities, IMO.

Nah I completely agree that there are options in Kingston itself which would be much more preferable than any other place in the borough from a general fan perspective. 100% I do, but these don't seem to be in the running (as far as we know) for various reasons so it feels a bit like like pissing in the wind campaigning for it when the people who call the shots have said many times that they aren't interested in it :(

What annoys me is that the Fairfield would be ideal as a stadium. Its only use is by drug dealers & alcohol dependent people. Not a very nice place to walk through. A welcome sports facility that Kingston lacks as a Borough and would be very welcome for the community.

Yeah - the drug dealers play a bit of cricket while the alcoholics have a football match

So that rules out the Fairfield as the current recreational and sorting activities are far more worthy that home to a bang average non league football club.

That sounds like a very neat solution. What sport do the sex-workers play?

While i take the basic point, we shouldn’t forget that in North London the likes of Wealdstone and Barnet are not only not “the team of the town” any more, they are no longer “the team of their borough” either. Wealdstone have moved to Ruislip in the borough of Hillingdon, and Barnet to Edgware in the borough of Harrow…

I thought this was an excellent piece of journalism. It doesn't dodge the issue at hand , as the owner states and I admire his candid comments, where or what do K's do now ? It depresses me that K's could be extinct in the near future. Kingstonian has and still is my home town football club, ideally a new ground in the Royal Borough would be suitable but (and there is always a BUT) reality has to be recognised if the club doesn't become extinct.

The key point in the article has to be "Our [ground-sharing] negotiations with the Casuals are not looking favourable for next season"

Isn’t the article just a re-hash of the interview with Mark Anderson from a couple of weeks ago, with added comments from a couple of prominent Ks fans?

The point is to have an article that highlights the latest situation for a general reader (including decision-makers and those politically engaged in the Borough) and keeps Ks visible. Non-regulars will not be watching KTV.
