Ashes to dust

Sorry this is not football related but I have to let off steam somewhere.

I have just seen Englands Buttler get out and we are on the way to another defeat. The TV presenters are crowing and I'm watching the usual collapse after a good stand.

Why can't we bat? Why can't we bowl. I wouldn't mind but this lot aren't that good.

It's great being a Pom in Oz at the moment.

Problem lies in white ball cricket, to focused on that the red ball is getting forgotten about. They stopped the county championship just to play a the stupid 100 competition.

You can do well in white & red ball cricket it’s finding the right balance. Need to sort out the openers soon

Burns, Sibley, Crawley & Hameed have all blown hot and cold when opening, there’s potential in all 4 but the focus on white ball cricket is what not helping.

Plus we need to sort out the bowling, we’ve not won a test match with out Broad & Anderson since 2006, 4 months before Anderson made is test debut

There are some decent players in there, but a poor coaching set up, a baffling selection policy and the wrong captain. Root is a brilliant batsmen but not the leader we need. We also had a grand total of one days match practise due to Brisbanes weather turning all mancunian on us.

The ECB is also obssessed with white ball cricket, meaning that there are next to no red/pink ball games for these players except at test level. We are set up to fail. The 6 days of play so far have been disappointing but not at all surprising.

Yes, I've read all those points on the BBC sites but it don't help those in the firing line. Just bring a team that can bat down the order, give 'em a game.

I've abandoned them for the Melbourne derby in the A league, at least it's full on.

I love white ball cricket. Says every colour-blind cricket fan ever.

I like cricket , enjoyed going to the Oval just a 20 minute train ride from Norbiton in the 50s/60s. How lucky I have been to witness the stars of that era. Good Luck England in the 3rd Test.
