Their reluctance to groundshare, owing to concerns over protecting their pitch, may shift now.

Doesn’t really effect us, plus we couldn’t agree on ground sharing.

Is this a side piece for a pro southern league move.

An important ground adjacent to the Borough where we've shared before is getting a 3g pitch and it doesn't affect us?

Would also mean a move to the Southern League.

Yes. Perhaps. And that is a stated concern. But an "avoid Southern league at all costs" position, when it is likely to lead to 5-10 years playing outside the borough of Kingston, would be suicide.

Is it not the case whatever league Ks are in they'll be playing outside the borough?

Realistically who knows when we’ll get our own place, the tories that run Kingston don’t care about us. It’s all talk because of the election in a few weeks but come 2 months down the line it’ll be all forgotten by them.

Labour & the greens care but unless they’d a dramatic vote shift, our future is in the hand of the tories & tories (my bad, the lib dems). The current theme for Kingston is become like Croydon & build loads of high rises. Look at the Cambridge estate redevelopment all sold as a big lie & people have fallen for it

An absolute no-brainer that we should approach them if the pitch was a stated concern of theirs before. Far closer than Mitcham and groundsharing there would be far less damaging.

Any supposed disadvantage from the Southern League would be far outweighed by the better crowds we'd get.

It's also worth bearing in mind we don't actually know whether it would mean the Southern League or not and our decision-making can't revolve around second guessing this.

Depending on promotions and relegations our league could be either oversubscribed, possibly sending teams like Casuals to the Southern League, or undersubscribed, potentially bringing Met Police back. Then the same thing happens in summer 2023. You can't predict it with any certainty and it isn't a sensible basis to decide on something as important as where we share.

Absolutely agree with you. Would much rather be at the Beveree and the point about teams always being moved between leagues is a good one, but it just seems to me that the board wouldn't have it if it meant the possibility of being moved. I quite like the idea of moving to the southern league. We're the longest continual members of this league at present (since 2009/10) and a change up would be nice, plus no more trips to Essex is always a bonus!

It was just before I started following Ks but I've always believed that our period as tenants at the Beveree was generally amicable and successful, non?
