Personally, as much as I take the points made by others re the timing of the price rise, I think this is fair enough. The facilities at Tooting are much better no matter what kind of fan you are - main stand, bringing a family, or behind the goal - and so paying a higher price is justified when compared to the prehistoric and disgusting facilities at Casuals.

However I hope there are two points that the decision makers have considered here, both on the same theme of encouraging tickets to be “banked” up front:

1. Charging £11 for tickets bought online in advance. We know that 10-20% (and on certain days eg rainy midweeks even 25%) of people who describe themselves as “certain” to attend events don’t actually turn up on the day, for various reasons. This is a well known industry benchmark. On that basis it makes financial sense to offer a small discount for up front purchases as the club ends up making the same or more money anyway. It has the other advantage of rewarding regular match-going fans, meaning the £10 is only really going up to £11 for many, while maintaining the higher price for on-the-day walkups, reflecting higher cost of dealing with cash etc.

2. Thinking about a lower ST price for non-renewals. Rewarding loyalty is great and should be applauded, but the full charge price is way too high. It’s hard to see the circumstances where anyone would buy one and so it’s not a good offer. For instance it’s easier for me to get to Tooting than Casuals (so I would be a candidate) but the price is far too inflated for me to justify it, even if I’m happy to write off a few quid as a gift to the club. Again, money in the bank is a better strategy than relying on people to definitely attend a lot of games. Also, if you have an ST, you do think “oh I may as well go” if you’re on the fence, which helps boost support on matchday. Good news all round.

Am I right in thinking Casuals already charge £12 for their games anyway? (not that it is super relevant, just a point of interest within this)

Fans' willingness to pay £12 (or any price, for that matter) for a game will be influenced by the quality of football on offer.

Seems to me that our attendances were higher at the start of the season when we were playing well.

People joined the 12th Man scheme to boost the squad. I wonder if they feel they got good value for money?

Timely poke of the cage Rex.

Any money I spend at the Ks helps them survive - ST, 12th Man, Match sponsor etc. I don't really qualify it - if I cant afford it I don't give it.

The only low point was a certain CF towards the end of the season and he had a good last few games.

A disastrous February made the remainder of the season going through the motions. Whether in Kingston or Tooting our location re the pyramid means there a teams a few miles away at our level in a different league which doesn’t help attendances. I think , over the season , we got value for money with a cup run in the FA trophy and top half finish but having said that the team just wasn’t quite right. Difficult to put a finger on it as to whether Bryant leaving with a couple of others dissatisfied early this year being on the fringe. Injury to Rob or just more than our share of bad luck (Robs sending off being a good example). Change in coaching staff, not a settled defence etc.
Quite a few managerial changes going on with Steve McKimm being sacked by Tonbridge Angels and replaced by the Margate manager. Casuals and Merstham looking for new managers. Bowers and Pitsea have a new manager.

Very rarely it goes to plan but fair play to Worthing , worthy winners

Glad you mentioned Worthing. No pun intended but worthy champions, the club deserve the promotion, after last seasons abandonment. I hope K's will follow their example next season.

A shame it's going up, of course, but £10 in 2010 is equivalent to £12.47 now. https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator

So can't complain too much.

Also part of the pleasure of the £10 was that it was always cash only, and you don't want to be worrying about coins, really, so £10 was good. Now it's possible to pay on card, less of an issue.

Well done to the board for holding out on the increase for longer than (almost) every other other Isthmian club.

Totally agree Margate, Folkestone and Lewes have had higher charges for quite sometime.
