Dan has also joined Horsham. Shame to lose him. Worried about next season.

To be honest I’m not surprised.
Horsham are a club going places, given the fact they’re a stable club with its own ground while we’re just slowly heading towards non existence. There gaffer Dom has been there a while which has helped lay the foundation to where they are today. We rarely get a manager to last 2 years & we have no foundation to be laid. 100% going to score against us.
And with this season (season swaps over July 1st) mid table, small budget, very few players, out the borough ( for good most likely) hopefully we can have a half decent cup run this season
Onto Saturday

I was looking at Ollie’s post being a bit negative then he put mid table. Joking aside we don’t know that the budget is small but we do know it’s not as big as Hayden wanted. As for very few players 22 played in the first pre season friendly a nd my research indicated apositive background for a few. I think we are a bit behind compared to other teams because the late changeover of manager and , apart from 4/5 having to rebuild the team so we will have a clearer picture after another three friendliest. I think we are also seeing a sudden influx of new players after being released by their pro clubs. They all have under 23 teams , keep the best and release the rest. AFC Wimbledon released quite a few players including Corrie Andrew’s for example. These will feed to the lower leagues. I think Horsham, for the team they had , underperformed in the league . Last year I expected them to challenge for playoff and the same this year. I am not sure they are stronger as a squad. Daniel didn’t seem to reach full potential with us and I don’t think that was his fault. If Horsham provides him with the right support then he could rank in comparison with Mo Faal or Joe Taylor as to the impact he has for his team. Could look to Hornchurch or Bishop Stortford as likely winners but maybe surprised by a team that gets the right blend, team spirit and a little luck. Could be us as a host of others.
As Ollie says , a cup run would be good but rarely at our level do good cup runs and league success occur at the same time.

Yes, agree. I was looking at the Horsham website and comments
from some of their fans weren't all that positive.
They had a 'retained' list of players from last season that was
a similar number to ours. Theyv'e lost six decent players.
As you rightly pointed out, a lot of players have been released from clubs at a higher level and a few 'gems' will filter down to our level. If we can assemble a squad with that blend you speak
about, then why not us indeed?

Just noticed Corrie Andrew’s has signed for Torquay. Rodari , who was at Crawley then Dorking, has dropped a further division to Dartford. Both in their prime years.
