could the manager please update us with how the squad is shaping up with confirmed signings
and any other pkayer movement please?

A fair question but the managers limited time I think, requires some patience from us, Lee was appointed on the 7th Zjune just over seven weeks ago when most managers had been working on their squads from the end of last season (23rd April for most). As, when a manager leaves, a lot of players usually depart as well. (Bowers only had two remain after their manager left ). Then he probably had holiday commitments taking two weeks so in reality he has had 5/6 weeks and virtually start from scratch. It doesn’t help when players say they will commit then change their minds. It maybe after the Tooting game and Thursday training he will be in a position to update and Inwouldn’t be surprised if there are one or two signings that have not featured in pre season.

nah
that explains why there’s not a weekly video or a continual stream of info
it doesnt explain why three paragraphs in an email couldn’t have been written to go onto a website.

According to previous posts Lee has been on holiday and returned between the Haywards Heath and Leatherhead games therefore under 7 days.
I wouldn’t expect him in 7 days having been absent for a couple of weeks to make decisions , discuss those with the respective players then make an official statement. So why three paragraphs haven’t been put in a email is that process hasn’t been completed..
John Bangs has said that he hopes to organise more zoom meeting for all so maybe ask the manager himself why the delay in update prior to season start. It doesn’t bother me if I know now or on the day of the first game.

If we haven't actually completed the signings yet that's even worse than if we'd signed them but hadn't communicated it.
We won our last two friendlies 4-1 and at time I'm writing we're winning tonight, so I'm sure there's some talent along those playing/trialling. But of tonight's 18 man squad I only recognise 8 as people we've either announced or played for us last season. This isn't remotely normal at this stage of pre-season, it's not at all clear what our team will look like at Margate and fans have every reason to, if not panic, then at least be a bit concerned.

It’s pre season
We signed Tolfs, Wilson, Strange, Cook, Collins, Beany, Dec, Henry, Cadogan.
More will follow, he’s finalizing his squad but things look good recently

Worth listening to Ollie's squad updates tbf, as he's been to more of our matches than the manager so far...

Miaow!
Let's accept that Lee was appointed just a few weeks ago and presumably had holiday plans already in his diary. Let's get behind him.

I’ll be at all the pre season games (a first for me, plus not having a having a plus one helps)
100% agree with that point Rex

that's great news that it doesn't bother you.
for those that do want an update, I'd suggest it remains a problem. whether or not John arranges a zoom ain't really an answer to this.

What's your point here, Peter? That it's fans' fault that we haven't had an update on who's playing for Ks this season/what our long-term plan for a ground is/anything else, because people haven't ... asked?
a) people have asked. This forum has been people repeatedly asking for updates for a couple of weeks. One might argue it's not an official channel, but it would be pretty odd if it wasn't monitored, or if, for example, the SC chair who is in regular contact with the board didn't pass on concerns. People have also asked on various social media channels.
b) even if the above hadn't happened, it shouldn't need to. Are the club sitting on a confirmed squad list/ground update, and just waiting for someone to ask?

Sorry, didn’t fully answer the question. When I mentioned about asking I suggested contacting the manager directly via the club address and/or asking him directly on the next zoom about communication of squad. I don’t think I made any comment re ground update. I haven’t any reason as to why we haven’t had an update. I have that communication needs to get back to where we were 6 months ago. Since the bad run Hayden stopped communicating. And so has the club. Will the set negative views encourage more engagement or will the various people we want to hear from be more hesitant? When the interviews are conducted the questions are measured to press the question in a way that’s not hostile but makes the point. Saying that the board is not up for the job or hint that the reduction in the Wimbledon Fund is suspicious I don’t think is helpful.
Just my view and appreciate others see things differently.

I thought my reasoning is very clear but let’s repeat. But before I do never have I said it’s the fans fault that we haven’t had an update.
The season for most clubs at our level finished on the 23rd April but , due to the a Surrey Cup final our season was some three weeks later. Lee was appointed on the 7th June 45 days later than most managers, already in place, had to prepare for 22/23. I am sure a week before he was appointed Lee had no idea he would become manager. Apart from 4 players now playing from last season he has had to start from scratch. From 7th June to today is 56 days less his two week holiday is 42 days. He returned within the last week and I wouldn’t expect him in seven days to finalise his squad but would think after tonight’s game and Thursday training he would had the tim3 needed to talk individually with players.
Maybe he has already decided his squad ,made all the registrations and the club could have updated, I would , given his limited timeframe give him the benefit of the doubt.
No way have I blamed the fans.
I am sure the are others on this forum more in the know than I

What happens first:
Ks new ground
Kingfisher Rebuild with high rises
Or The Cambridge Road Estate Rebuild.
At the moment only one of theses three wasn’t/hasn’t been sold as a lie to people

It’s actually ridiculous now. For his faults, all the good work Hayden did in bridging the gap between the team and fans is being undone. Expect fans to travel over 5 miles for a team they’ve been told nothing about for 2 months. And then they’ll wonder why crowd number are so low.
Even a statement that says absolutely nothing (working hard behind the scenes, looking a several possibilities…), would be welcome at the moment

Not everyone is complaining, have a bit of patience FFS.
Pre season is about finding out who & what you need for the season. Have you been to a pre season game yet

If it's about who has been to what games - I've been to all of them, yet can't pretend I feel like I know what's going on or any clue on what the team will be in just over a week.

Surely Ali we can see that this is because Lee is narrowing down a group of potential players into his final squad. We will hear the outcome very shortly with, I suspect, an exciting group of young players mentored by a few experienced players with a real commitment to the Club.
Some fans seem to want Lee to tell us what he has decided in advance of his making a decision.

No one is doubting that this is what is happening, John. What people are doubting is that this is normal/optimal (which at least one director has told at least one fan this summer).
This was our squad for the first friendly, on 3rd July last summer:
Kingstonian: Rob Tolfrey, Harry Osborne, Bryant Akono Bilongo, Simon Cooper, Ollie Cook, Gus Sow, Nyren Clunis, Kenny Beaney, Daniel Ajakaiye, Jason Banton, Rhys Murrell-Williamson.
Subs: Kershaney Samuels (for Rhys Murrell-Williamson, HT), Declan Skura (for Harry Osborne, 50m), Elliott Buchanan (for Daniel Ajakaiye, HT), Aaron Lamont (for Nyren Clunis, 62m), Juevan Spencer (for Bryant Akono Bilongo, HT), Teo Kurtaran (for Kenny Beaney, 73m), Lewis Pearch (for Gus Sow,73m), Mason Whitnell.
Osborne injury and Bryant signing for Boro aside, that was our squad until about February, and was rewarded with a great first half of the season.
Yes, Lee's late appointment will have delayed some things, but it's possible to acknowledge that while also expressing concerns about the suboptimal preseason and lack of communication.

The thing is that Hayden had been planning for this even before the end of the previous season. Lee was not in that position. Hence I do slightly struggle to see the relevance of the comparison.
