Walter Figueira

Walter has been playing for Carshalton Athletic in their last couple of friendlies. Calvin Ekpiteta has also been playing in those games as well for them. Is everyone disappointed to see the "game changer" leave?

they've just announced these two signings, along with short-lived-former-K Iffy Allen, who seems to play against us for someone different every season.

Must be nice to announce some players, eh?

I know he didn't impress for us, but I always felt there
was more to Walter than what was on show.
He was quite prolific under Hayden at Merstham. I don't know
why he went off to play in Ireland, but he didn't impress there.
Probably one of those players who will come back and bite us
in the arse with a goal or two against if he stays at this level.

The 12th man ‘scheme’ offered good value for money last season!

I think that should probably be directed to our manager from last season. I think that we were owed more than a complete lack of communication from him over the final months of the season, especially after big spending on "game changing" signings as the wheels were coming off our season.

Hayden put a significant amount of effort in communication in his time at at the club, yet you pick away at a couple of months' of quiet time?

Yes we were having a bad run, but it was probably the right move - given his words were getting him into trouble and that fans were then using them against him - to just take a step back and let it cool off for a bit.

I may be wrong, but I believe after the Potters Bar (away) defeat we didn't hear from him again until just before the Surrey Senior Cup final. Don't get me wrong, up until that point his communication had been superb with the fans, but if he was unable to stop getting himself in trouble for the comments he made that's fair enough. I just feel that we were owed some explanations as to the dire run of form and the players that he got rid of, inadequate replacements and persisting with the selection of his favourites when they were obviously in terrible form.

Full disclosure on this: this was due to a combo of things. Hayden stepped away from interviews for a few weeks, but this period of quiet was extended as I was unable to carry out interviews for the last couple of months of the season due to family commitments (and one interview we did do, but the club stopped us putting out. still not sure why).

In that time though, Hayden wrote 6 updates for the website, as well as commenting on player comings and goings in other news stories. I realise it was a blow not to hear my dulcet tones and unkempt facial hair, but it's not true to say we didn't hear from him at all.

Quite. The 12th Man Scheme helped fund the team through out the season . The reality is that bringing in Walter was funded by letting Elliot go.

Walter joined more than a month before Buchs left, John.

I repeat 65-70p per day - is a price worth paying if it makes the difference.

So Lee - my first game since Lewes away last season will be Enfield at home, can I have some names to cheer for , otherwise its a new top with "A trialist" on the back.

1. The 1st squad list had to be sent to the FA/League by 31/7 so it can’t be trialist A.
2. Lee did say they’ll be a couple of players incoming soon.
3. Everyone’s is trying to put names to faces, the problem when you have a knee team. Give it time.
4. You’ll have names to cheer on as we play Margate then Wingate before Enfield so relax.

its not a result based gift - I don't want anything from it - success would be nice - but its not an investment.

But...from Aug to Jan I was V pleased - Feb not so much

Think it would be better if we had a stadium fund we could contribute to.

At least that way when we get a stadium you can tell everyone how easy it is for you to get to!
