I remember Mr Cooley way back at Richmond rd in his Trademark 'Ushanka' Russian style hat and cigar.
He was quite vociferous then from the stand, usually in criticism of the referee and linesmen. Many of the old supporters, now long gone used to refer to him as 'Kruschev'.
Rest in peace Sir, my condolences to his family and friends.

We would like to send our love and condolences ... at this very sad time.

Amen. Never really knew him well, only spoke to him a few times. But a real gentleman, whose love for football and his local community always shone through.

Totally - spot on Rex. Seventy five years a Ks fan; Lawrence was like a proverbial stick of Kingstonian rock with Kingstonian written through his middle. Also a Supporters Club member for so many years. All who knew Lawrence will miss him.

Very sad to hear the news of his passing,
together with Jack Goodchild they were the
two constants in my long support of the club.
Maybe they will meet up and have a good old
chat.

A true Kingstonian!

My first recollections of Lawrence were at Richmond Road when he would come along to watch K's with his little dog.
The last time I saw him was at a K's game at King George's Field when I chatted with him about old times.

My condolences to his wife, Dorothy, daughter Sandy, and all of his family and friends.

John Edwards emailed saying:
So sorry to hear about Lawrence.
I would contact the flower man but do not know if he has email
I wasn’t as close to him in the end as I have been. At one point I was virtually his chauffeur. A true Mr Kingstonian
Paul Flavell the bell ringer and sometime ball sponsor has been in touch with me.
Can you please pass on our condolences to the family for me
And add us to any list of condolences on the forum
He has in his time been involved in a number of organisations particularly in Kingston and I hope he is given a proper send off.

John Edwards
