Apparently Chelsea new owners (the one who suggested a north v south premier league fundraiser for lower league football. ) is apparently interested in selling Kingsmeadow.
It’s not going to happen, it will be sold for “affordable” housing most likely. We’ll have the memories of KM
Article below & unfortunately it’s a Daily Mail article
Thought I’d share this & bust the bubble of any one who’d get the hopes us of a possible return

It says they're interested in moving the women's team somewhere bigger - which, sooner or later, is inevitable - not that they're necessarily selling KM. I suspect they'll simply keep it for reserve and youth teams but if they do sell it it would either be to a much richer sports team or, as you suggest, for housing. There's obviously no chance of us raising the £8m+ they'd want.
It's worth people bringing this up when talking to the council though. They're clearly keen on Chelsea and women's football more generally but they need to understand that sooner or later Chelsea (or at least their women's first team) will be gone. Then if Ks aren't back home, Kingston (as a town at least) will be without any sort of senior football for the first time since the Victorian Age.

I believe it cannot be sold for housing.
It has to remain a sports venue.

Was there not Council idea to develope new ground on unused Thames Water land near Berrylands and housing on Kingsmeadow.
As it was dependent on AFCW playing there it never went any further than an idea as, AFCW aim was to move back to Merton. So I wouldn't rule out non sporting development.
Maybe file the non sport use along side 'borough's senior club has right to play at Kingsmeadow ' in the alas not so cabinet.

it was an idea which can’t in any way work and council wouldn’t consider it for the foreseeable

Quite so Jon, but is it right that Kingsmeadow can't be built on?
