Although this is a joke in reference to some of the pathetic remarks and scrutiny of the KBH members last week it actually leads me to make some further observations.
What is the role of the supporters club in all of this? Absolutely no scrutiny of this appointment yet scrutiny and condescending remarks about the KBH bid last week.
Surely there has to be some balance?

Question.
When the board make a decision is it done on a collective basis i.e. all four of them (now 5) or is it done by the director of football to get his mates in.
Is there any truth in the rumour that said director has invited Paul Gadd to run the Kids Go Free scheme.

Wow. That’s quite some due diligence from the board.

Paper over the cracks the board are under pressure since the KBH came out publicly about the board poor dealings with them. Dnt know Ben personally but not sure what he is going to offer epically with our stubborn current directors, who seem to be very old-fashioned in their approach. They seem they can’t accept change and when they have there yes peps around them.

The club had a credible offer on the table from a group of committed Ks fans with a variety of skills and experience, whose only motivation was the future of Ks. All that was asked was access to some basic financial records.
The board have opted for a mate of a current director who during his time as a sponsor fell out with half the first team staff and threw his toys out of the pram when he didn’t get his way.

I have, at various times, been frustrated and unhappy as a K's fan. But this is truly the most embarrassed i've felt.
Ben Flatt.
Remarkably, this terse statement from the board does not mention that Ben Flatt is managing director of Grand Openings Ltd. Perhaps it was hoped that people would not notice that this was a former shirt sponsor who, halfway through a two-year contract, walked out on K's due to disagreements with the club hierarchy. This was ingratitude of the highest order after his company got national exposure during the FA Cup run.
Elements within the board said they'd never have Flatt anywhere near the club again - and here we are.
He is friends with a current director, Yiorgios, with whom he fell out. Presumably they are now close again.
The statement says he will become a "non-executive director" - as usual, we must read between the lines: he hasn't bought shares. At least that means the club will have avoided undergoing due diligence.
In the board's last letter to KBH, they stated: "As Mark has previously advised you, we are currently in discussions with new investors with considerable business and financial expertise to support and enhance the board and we remain committed to taking the club forward in this way."
Oh dear.

As usual Anderson and co are skirting the rules of companies House ,no due diligence non exec status does not require,be interesting to see what is behind it,bring back my old governor ,or make them offer they can't refuse, I'm sure someone can be found to do it .

This feels like really bad news. We know how this guy operates from this previous involvement with the club, when he upset pretty much everyone with his conduct.
I fail to see, and have failed to find, any evidence at all that he is a property developer.
This makes no sense at all - and I’m saying that just as a fan, not a part of KBH.

That's perhaps a little unfair. He is a double glazing salesman!

A truly terrible decision to appoint someone who has a track record of making himself unpopular at Kingstonian Football Club.
What on earth are the board thinking? What are their motivations?

Didn’t he have fall out with the board? So why have brought him in it just makes them look more stupid after KBH offer was declined.

On its own merits, this is a very troubling turn of events given the track record of Flatt and Kingstonian. When you factor in the KBH decision (or lack thereof) I get a very uneasy feeling in my stomach about the long-term security of this club.
If the Board aren’t willing to stand in front of the fans and explain (and justify) their decision-making here, they shouldn’t be in post.

That appointment allowed an utterly incompetent, arrogant and stubborn individual into the club and he will now do his utmost to keep that control. He's a chancer that needs to be removed before it's too late.

this seems surprising and disappointing all at once
people might feel reassured if the person who’s presumably putting in a considerable amount of money was involved in this statement, and then we could get a measure of the person that most in the dwindling won’t be aware of

I hope that you and the other fine folk of KBH aren’t deterred by this Jon.
To me KBH seemed like a wonderful way forward for the club & fans and to have that offer and opportunity knocked back by the board so dismissively after being strung along for so long is both tragic and peculiar.

It seems that a majority of the board have given up and only seem interested in treating the few remaining fans with contempt. That leaves us with our marketing wiz/director of football running the club into the ground to massage his fragile ego. Hopefully the fans let it known in no uncertain terms at the next game that we want KBH and not board members mates...
