There’s no way this is a legitimate result. Good on whoever it was for getting people to vote for him, but there’s no way that any player (let alone somebody who’s made such little impact) could get almost 50% of the votes on a list of ~50 players.

Getting people to vote or canvassing if this is indeed the case would be not only fair but totally legitimate.
It's certainly wrong in every sense to accuse anyone of false counting especially without any proof at all and it is indeed insulting.
Trumping does certainly come to mind Jim you are right and it's not fair.I no nothing of the young man who won so I offer no opinion just sad I cannot make a trip to Tooting.

He’s not saying it was fixed.
He’s saying that quite obviously there was a concerted, private messaging campaign to ensure that a certain group of supporters voted for one particular U18 player. The lad isn’t Lionel Messi and I don’t think 50 people have been watching the U18s every week this season, so it’s blatantly obvious that’s what’s happened.
If you’re not in the group that decided to do this - as I’m not - it just strikes me as a really weird thing to all agree to do. It’s pretty insulting to the four or five first team players who actually contributed to Kingstonian not going down this season.
But there we are - clearly there’s a group of people who thought this was a clever idea, so good luck to them, and good luck to Iker.

If he didn't say it was fixed he certainly said it was illegitimate and it wasn't in any way.
It could be a group of players or supporters voting as one is long standing but relatively normal but with a small vote as it surely was it can be defining not illegitimate.

There's no sense dancing on the head of a pin over the word "illegitimate" whilst ignoring Alistair's excellent observation that it was "pretty insulting to the four or five first team players who actually contributed to Kingstonian not going down this season".
I noticed that the voting system allowed multiple, repeat votes from the same device. I voted once for Rob Tolfrey but could have voted for him 100 times if I had wanted to.

Agree with you Rex but it's still not illegitimate but a play on the voting system and possibly taking advantage of a small supporter vote and yes unfair quite possibly on other more regular and longer serving players.

Iker Leon - Player of the Year while not being able to make the first team squad aside from a token offering yesterday.
Truly does makes us look tinpot and is genuinely demeaning to a young player with aspirations to better himself in the game.
This is not slight on Iker btw, clearly a good lad who has represented us well - last memory of him this season are his valiant efforts during the RPV debacle.
