I’ll put my head above the parapet to say: dunno to be honest. Lewis was fine, I guess, but he wasn’t outstanding in any way last season in a team that finished 5th bottom. I hope we can add to the retentions with some proper Isthmian Premier standard players over the coming weeks. I’m sure Simon is working hard on that.

Yes, agree with your comments on all of that.
The 4 or 5 'returnees' signed so far were playing at a
level below before they joined our fiģht to stay up last
season. We have to hope they can gel as a group and be good enough to compete at this level.

I didn't see us play often enough last season to really have strong opinions on any individuals but I guess we should be pleased if any of them want to stay - it's definitely a vote of confidence in the Manager.
Having said which, I also agree with Alastair's point above (about attracting new players to the club, especially those with proven pedigree at this level). It would be a sign that the budget is adequate.
