I was away for the first three games but attended the two over the weekend and I must say...I think we look quite good.

"Quite good" should be qualified - I'm expecting a relegation fight this season. But we outplayed Wingate and should have won. Today really could have gone either way. We had two one-on-one chances in the second half which their keeper saved well. Then again, they had a couple of big chances too.

I really like Collins - have always done, thinking back to his first spell under clueless Dynan - particularly the selfless runs he makes to the far side to open up space for Goat and Dsane, who I think can both do well for us at this level. I haven't seen enough of Somo to judge.

I also think we seem to have enough grit in the spine of the side. But it must be said the goalkeeper has made some shocking errors in the two games I've seen.

We really should have four points from those two games at least. I don't think that failure really stems from anything wrong with the organisation, or the quality of outfielders.

I suppose my main point is that I'm 100% on board with Lane despite the results so far. I think if we continue playing this way, we'll pick up points.

Enjoyed being back at these two games. Up the Ks.

Agreed, we carry a much bigger threat going forward than we did at any point last season. The worrying thing is that we've conceded 10 goals in 5 games and we haven't defended particularly poorly in any of those games. Hopefully we start to tighten up there or it might be another long season. I have faith in Simon to sort it out for us though.

The four teams we lost to have, in total, lost only two games in the 16 they have played. In three of those we lost it was by the only goal.. In the games Inhave seen we have looked dangerous in the last 3rd. Agree with MCs points and the manager appears well organised

Agree with sentiments of both postings.
I like Simon Lane, his management team and the way we have set up for a difficult start to the season. Sadly, its a results business and four defeats from five is a relegation statistic and poor form. We really should have taken at least two points from the last two games.

Thought we were good today.

Hoverever think we need a new keeper as this season is going to be difficult as it is.

Collins to me was not good enough in his 1st spell at the club and am still unsure.

Positives the 2 full backs the centre mid and Eddie I thought was all super

Darnel good as well and is it rudey ?

The problem we have is 7 day approaches for our players we have good.

One bad game & you want to replace the keeper. He’s been good for most of this season. Tom Collins just needs to score, I think he tries to hard to score & gets frustrated when he doesn’t. Goals will help his confidence.

The other problem is budget, we have a very very small budget this season so it’s going to be hard to replace players. We probably can’t afford most players in this league & league below. Doesn’t help when clubs in league below pump money in in hope of promotion

The cutting of the budget year on year is the choice of the board.

It didn’t and doesn’t need to be this way!

Hayden had a good budget and experienced players and we did not achieve anything.

With what he had i I do believe he should have done better - ie playoffs

Hayden achieved 3 cup runs more than all Ks managers put together in 20 years. He wanted to stay even after our incompetent board screwed him over. Worst thing the club did was force him out the door.

Hi Paul. Follows it...or generates it? My assessment is he follows the opportunities to generate a big budget. We were that club to his at one point, but we're not that club to him at the moment. Maybe he thought Tooting, coupled with the ambitions and direction of the board he was working with, could not generate a budget to progress the club. Maybe he was right.

Unless you are just going to buy the league there's little chance of promotion with one full season in charge. Takes 2 or 3 to really build it to that stage.

He only had one full season in charge!

He did achieve one fa cup and one FA trophy run, which were good for exposure and prize money.

And a Surre y Senior Cup final. Unfortunately had that bad spell after game changing signings. Arguably one of the top 5 managers since the first, Peter Gleeson in 1958. Prior to that the team was picked by committee.

How did I forget the SSC final that went to penalties. Alan Dowson and Arron Lamont joining hundreds of Ks fans in the crowd.

Hayden never battled relegation but you also have to look at his off the pitch work. Bringing in Nigel James to run the academy, supporting fund raising schemes and being a friend to the fans!

And Chiek Kandi, Lee Lewis and Charlie Greenwood?
Somebody within the club must be able to answer these questions?

The club announce recently that Lee Lewis left just over a week ago. I think it was James Street mentioned on the Facebook page that the other three were injured..Certainly think that a manager fortnightly update wouldn’t go amiss in the absence of the interviews and perhaps that may happen.
