Yup. Owning a ground increases the costs - but also the opportunities for non-football income. There are advantages and disadvantages to both options.

What trumps either option is being as close as possible to your home town. Walton & Hersham FC haven't achieved their astonishing success by playing in, for example, Weybridge.
