To be fair even if the board ruled it out in the past, they ruled it back in. Mark said so at the fan forum and it was pretty obviously option 3 in the update in March:

Option 3 - Finally, the Club has looked further into the potential development of an existing sports venue. Whilst the Councillors are not keen to dismiss any potential options, there are acknowledged to be complications due to the existing purpose of the site. However, this option will be examined further, in order to assess its viability for development.'

I'd also imagine it's the backup option still under consideration. It's more the Supporters Club that has ruled it out completely.

Everywhere has barriers, the worry is that everything the board/SC pursue always has considerably more barriers than the track does. Which is why we are where we are and I worry if any lessons have really been learned.

Saturday and Sunday training is in the mornings, so a non issue. The stand is big enough for step 2. It's true that we'd need to extend the pitch and build a clubhouse. Every year we waste on unrealistic schemes, we waste more of the AFC money and make it harder and harder to make the track decent rather than doing the bare minimum to make ground grading.
