Topically, last week the Government published a report into how it sees the football regulator working. One requirement will be:

The Regulator would set a minimum standard of fan engagement as part of its licensing regime through the ‘Fan interests’ Threshold Condition, in line with the aims of the Review.

This would require clubs to have a framework in place to regularly meet a representative group of fans to discuss key strategic matters at the club, and other issues of interest to supporters (including club heritage).

I'm sure the board and those who continually excuse their lack of engagement will be delighted that this will only apply to Conference National clubs and higher. But still interesting that fan engagement is seen as so important that the Government - a Tory Government, at that - is going to make it a regulatory requirement on pro clubs.
