I think the board probably did think Lovelace was possible and the council led them down the garden path which probably wasted four or five years.

I have often heard it said the Athletics Ground is no good but why is it no good? One would hardly argue about its location and it already has a football pitch.

I would also say that the council don’t seem bothered one way or the other. That can’t help much.
