Foley you did indeed speak to myself and Butler at half time, I am glad you have taken the time to start understanding the problem and the scale of it as you have come across as very misguided at times.
The scale of the problem is clear to see; playing in Mitcham, no clear plan for the short or long term, less than 100 fans, relegation a dead cert.
What I struggle with is the fact that a lot of the issues and solutions have been fully documented whether on here, from the KBH and their information on their site, from the supporters club through our meeting and updates or directly from concerned supporters.
As a supporter’s club we have tried to work with the board despite being warned by others it will not work, they will not actually be genuine. But we had to try. We shook hands on this in Bognor back in September to say we would work with them but they had to be transparent. They have not been. When I asked about their strategy which I Posted on here, it was a few lines pretty much about continuing with the same ways. That’s the strategy.
As I mentioned yesterday, a concern I have is the ever decreasing fan base and something I put to the board was that they need to engage with those fans that have stayed away or stopped coming. They haven’t done this. They are not able to attract existing fans or new ones. They have rejected investment and expertise and a year on we are seeing the results of their actions.
I spoke to you about the numerous meetings and discussions even over the past few weeks I’ve had with the board, the supporters and AFCW. Myself and a number of others are doing what they can to keep this club alive. So when I say you make a lot of misguided comments I do mean it. You have had ample opportunities to read up on the background and updates . Unlike the board the Supporters club and KBH are fully transparent.
I did agree with you though that we may need to start from the bottom if needed. Yes that would be a drop down but it would mean Ks fans working collectively, continuously looking to improve, considering new ideas to keep Kingstonian alive.
We can only judge the board on the hard facts as mentioned above; the product on the pitch, the ground, the double digit fan base. That’s all on their watch. But it’s the sheer arrogance of failing to engage with supporters, rejecting investment and support and inability to think differently that really concerns us. I missed the 2004 protests from being at uni, I never thought I would vote with my feet and stay outside for the first half of a ks game. But that is what the board have now driven us to!
