We have lost a whole generation of fans now. If I was young and lived in Kingston why would I go to watch Kingstonian play in Raynes Park let alone Mitcham?

It is a real tragedy. Non league clubs have no right to existence - look at Staines Town. In many ways their extinction has relevance for Ks. Put out of business by a cruel owner, the fans who wanted to started to follow Staines & Lammas (Middlesex) but that club now groundshares ar Abbey Rangers so there is no football team in Staines. Brentford got a five year lease on Wheatsheaf Park but there is no accommodation then for Staines & Lammas. Someone tried to form a Staines Town AFC but there was not enough support or money.

Kingstonian is only still there because of the blood money. Whilst I can understand that it was Khosla and AFC Scumbledon who removed our ground, why have the directors of the club made so little progress on a new one in seven years? And given seven years have elapsed, what reason is there to think this new board will do any better? In any event even if by some chance they do find a site, surely we must be the same time again from playing there.

Everything depends on developing a new ground - which seems improbable - or finding a sensible long term groundshare. Perhaps Raynes Park is it, it is after all only three miles from Kingsmeadowa and the 131 runs close by.

The other point is the football. Teams need to be successful at step four to generate interest. Walton & Hersham came back from step six and Chertsey Town have been promoted. W&H had a crowd of 651 yesterday literally a tenfold increase from pre-covid seasons. However I can only see Ks struggling at step four, it is a competitive hard fought league. I can’t see myself flocking to Raynes Park for a lower mid table clash with Hanworth Villa or just as likely a relegation decider.
