Wouldn't disagree with any of your comments or observations.
I was quite excited before yesterday's game but, I think its worth remembering we
were up against a team from a level below, which is in fact combined counties standard.
Total respect to Eastbourne, they got stuck into us after conceding early and played some
decent flowing football. The day could have ended disastrously for us, we need a cup run to
bring fans in and of course, for the revenue.
For the past two seasons when I couldn't face going to Imperial fields, I went to W&H on the
odd occasion and have seen almost all of the players in our current squad.
Scott Harris and Martyn Lee are good men and good coaches. What I noticed about W&H is that
they seemed like a 2nd half side and playing out from the back was/is the norm.
I'm not sure I like watching us play this way, especially at this level.
The 'intensity' you speak about was certainly there in the 2nd half yesterday after the substitutions.
Rather than see us 'overplay', I'd like to see us go long and wider. We have two of the best forwards
in the league who will score at will this way.
Of course, you are right. Its not the Ks we have all grown up to know, even from pre conference times
but, this is level 4 and this team have come up together from steps 6/5 through to step 3 and fared well
at all levels. I'll gladly take the improved RPV experience for now and be happy to support this team
going forward.
