Thanks for coming on here Brad, it's rare to hear from a player like this. I don't want to just totally repeat MC and Taimour but I think it's important to look at how long these problems go back.

In Scott's first interview as manager he acknowledged that the last few years at Ks have been traumatic - his words, not mine - but asked for fans to nonetheless get behind the team.

I totally get that as a sentiment and it's what you expect from a manager, or players. The fans do their best to do that and during games, we mostly do.

But for a VERY long time - I'd say from Khosla leaving in February 2005 (when Martyn was a player for us) right up to December 2021 (when the board announced we'd be moving to Mitcham) - as a fanbase we were much too passive about the running of the club, too happy to just enjoy good football while not challenging the running of the club.

We won promotion, two cups, had an FA Cup run, got to the playoffs twice and overall won a lot more matches than we lost. We also got to know the players and manager quite well - Dowse managed us for seven and a half years, lots of players got to 100 or even 200 games for us. On the pitch they were good times but off the pitch we allowed things to drift with no progress on a ground, or growing and marketing the club.

Since the last two disastrous years in Mitcham we've now woken up to the long-term trouble the club is in. We've become more politicised and we know we can't just allow a winning team to distract us from the long-term problems the club is in. The latest news about the ground is a disaster, even though it's one that many of us saw coming from a mile off.

None of that is Scott's fault and certainly not the players'. We're enjoying watching entertaining football again and we'll keep getting behind you on the pitch. But off the field we can't afford to get back into that same place of accepting the problems with how the club is run, just because the team is winning.
