I’m becoming more and more ambivalent as to whether I even want us to stay up. The Womble money is the only thing that can give us any hope of ever getting a ground, yet we’re frittering it away at an alarming rate. Why, just so we can limp on at step 3, just about staying up while playing in a ground miles from Kingston that most of us hate? What’s actually the point?
At least if we go down, a competitive budget costs a lot less and perhaps we can hold on to what’s left of our money. It would also bring a lot more suitable ground-sharing options into play, both by ending this ridiculous Southern League bogyeyman about Imber Court, and by bringing lower graded grounds like Raynes Park Vale and Molesey into play.
